Dr. Ali Karim

Doctor & Creator

Ali is currently traveling the world indefinitely in search of knowledge, education, and ideas regarding the betterment of humanity. Born in Washington D.C. to Afghan American Muslim parents, he previously worked as an internal medicine hospital physician. Ali quit the hospital world in November 2016 after realizing he could do more good elsewhere. Thus the creation of Backpacking Doc and the start of documentary film making.

Keir Briscoe

Photographer, Youtuber, Layabout

Photographer, Traveler, and aspiring Youtuber. Keir likes the colour red, Thai food, and watching Russian dashcam videos. The best way to keep him happy is to feed him dark beer, whiskey, and spicy food. His employment experience covers the range of making snow to motorcycle tech, to engineering systems for reducing energy usage in buildings.

Doreen is a paralegal with strong interests in policy particularly in education. All she wants is to help make the world a better place, at least more liveable for the less fortunate. She loves researching and enjoys a good challenge. If Doreen's life was made into a movie it'd be called: Die Tryin'

Hi! My name is Tolu Yakubu. I live in Abuja which is the capital of Nigeria. I’m interested in helping the needy, I love traveling and meeting new friends, i love music and sport, my favorite club is Arsenal.

Sawye Dul Arfat

Interpreter/Translator, Assistant Videographer, Humanitarian Worker

Sawye is a Rohingya activist, who came to Bangladesh with his family a couple of years ago. His family could not return home due to the conflict in Myanmar, so he is assisting his community now in the Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar as a humanitarian worker, translator, and videographer.

Maula Jan Nassery

Interpreter/Translator, Driver

Maula Jan is a father of six working in Kabul, Afghanistan primarily as a driver to those arriving from foreign countries. He wants to provide assistance to his poor war torn homeland so he worked as a interpreter/translator for the documentary in order to play his role in helping his country by getting the truth out about its inherent beauty and struggle for freedom. In his spare time, he enjoys playing with his kids and spending time with his wife.
